How to get fit fast

http://www.channel4.com/programmes/how-to-get-fit-fast

Dancing is the 2nd best way to burn calories (in a way which does not feel like ‘exercise’) according to recent channel 4 TV program ‘how to get fit fast’. It’s called ‘non exercise activity thermogenesis’ and it’s a great way to loose weight and get fitter. For more information of dance classes go to.

Message from Elisabeth

Hello there,

This is a personal message from Elisabeth:

I have just spent three amazing weekends watching our pupils excelling in different events.

First of all on Sunday 17th April they displayed  the beauty and elegance of the Ballroom and Latin Competition, on Sunday 24th April they “hit us “ with their energy and excitement at the Street Dance Competition and then Saturday 30th April….the icing on the cake their “pure magical” performance in the Hits 25 show at the Opera House Theatre, Winter Garden, Blackpool.

I am so very proud of them.

Since I started the Dance School over twenty years ago it has always been my aim to provide affordable lessons for any child who wishes to join us and learn to dance.

We do not audition or choose our pupils for any of our special projects like other schools do. If anyone wants to be involved, we take them.

We provide inexpensive small group workshops for our training sessions and due to the hard work of everyone concerned the results are remarkable . Other Schools only achieve this sort of improvement with very expensive private lessons.

We sincerely believe in providing a good standard of dancing for all. This is achieved with the warm co-operation and teamwork between us Teachers, the Parents and of-course our lovely pupils.

I look forward to seeing you all at our Medal Test weekend next Sunday 8th May  and  our medal Presentation on 9th July .

If you particularly enjoyed any of our special events please don`t hesitate to tell us.

Best regards to everyone,

Elisabeth

Busy start to 2016

Our dancers have enjoyed a very busy start to the year including two Ballroom and Latin competitions, a Street dance competition, Medal presentation evening with professional dance demonstration, trip to  Blackpool Tower Ballroom and most recently the ‘Top Hat’ performance at the Opera House which was amazing. We are very proud of all our dancers who have worked hard to improve their dancing and who get involved with our events. You can see pictures of all of these events and more on the dance school instagram page.

IMG_9792IMG_9566We have recently updated the dance school web site with details of all planned events for 2016. Click here to check out our action packed calender. If you require more information on any of our events then please dont hesitate to contact us. We also welcome any feedback which can be used to help develop and improve our dance classes and events. Just fill out the contact form below with your ideas and suggestions.

All of our adult pupils, including our beginners and improver’s, are welcome to join us for a social dance on Saturday the 7th May starting at 8pm and we have all of our Medal Tests on Sunday the 8th May. Our Social dances are very relaxed, just bring your dance shoes and your own favourite drinks and nibbles. Its an ideal opportunity to practice all those steps you’ve been working hard to master.

Awards & Demonstration Evening

IMG_9576

To celebrate the achievements and commitment of our dance pupils top dance competitors Christian and Beth treated us all to an inspiring demonstration of all five Latin dances Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive, Samba and Paso. We were also treated to various demonstrations of dance by our own pupils at every age group and level. Everyone involved performed their routines with confidence. Well done dancers, your performances were great!

Thank you all Mums, Dads and Grandparents for your continued support.  As Christian and Beth highlighted during the question and answer session,  learning to dance requires both determination and commitment and the higher the level you wish to attain the more dedication and practice is required.

Following the demonstration Christian and Beth handed out awards to the schools pupils including Medal Tests Certificates, Competitors Medals and Special Achievement Awards. These awards recognise the skill, commitment, effort and general development of our pupils. We are very proud of the progress made by every pupil. Well done dancers!

This might be for example, having some private lessons to get to grips with the Foxtrot, taking a medal test for the first time or entering a dance competition! What ever your dancing goals might be we are here to help you achieve them. Estelle, Elisabeth, Michael or Jonathan will be pleased to have a chat and discuss your requirements.  Our teacher team is committed to help you make your dancing experience as good as it can be. Our adult intermediate level class is held on a Wednesday evening. For adults who wish to compete then special workshops and private coaching sessions are available.

Sequence Dance

For those of you who enjoy Sequence dancing then we have a class which focuses solely on learning sequence dances on a Thursday Evening. Learning popular sequence dances is very useful as you are exposed to all the rhythms of the Ballroom and Latin dances and many social events are often a 50/50 mix of Ballroom / Latin and Sequences dances.

Social Dances

Looking ahead, we will be hosting many more social events (including trips to the world famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom), and more regular Saturday night social dances for Ballroom & Latin and Sequence dancing. These social dances really help develop your dancing and confidence and are a great opportunity to get to know your fellow pupils better.
