Dancing is the 2nd best way to burn calories (in a way which does not feel like ‘exercise’) according to recent channel 4 TV program ‘how to get fit fast’. It’s called ‘non exercise activity thermogenesis’ and it’s a great way to loose weight and get fitter. For more information of dance classes go to.

New Dance classes will be starting soon. Text 07920 408858 for more info and keep a look out for our adds in local press. Kirkham Dance specialises in teaching the styles of Ballroom and Latin American Dance. All ages and all abilities are made to feel welcome and we regularly run beginners classes for both adults and children perfect for all those who have no previous dance experience.
On Sunday the 2nd October twenty of our pupils competed in a National Ballroom and Latin dance competition organised by the UKA and held at the world famous Empress Ballroom, Winter Gardens, Blackpool. Competition was strong and the massive hall was filled with pupils from dance schools from all around Britain. Our pupils competed in all age categories from the under 5 years to the over 45 years and in all levels between Intro through to Gold. This is a great achievement for a school of our size and well done to every pupil who competed. You all looked great in your competition outfits and you danced well. Your commitment to the school is very much appreciated and its great to feel part of a team. I’ve now posted photos onto our dance school Instagram account. Click the image below to see them.
Looking ahead we will be very busy over the next couple of months with teachers and pupils having to prepare for competitions including a dance competition on the 20th November and also the Medal Tests which will be held on the 27th November. Check out our dance school calendar here for other events coming up soon. If you or a friend fancy learning to dance like the stars on BBC TV Strictly Come Dancing then why not get in touch. We have dance classes for all ages and all abilities. Click here to get in touch.
This is a personal message from Elisabeth:-
We have just got back from a fantastic Competition Day in a new venue in Huddersfield. It has been a lovely day and no doubt by now, you will have read about all the Dance School successes on facebook and seen the photographs on Instagram. Congratulations to all our Competitors. Winners one and all!!
I would like to say a special “Big Thank you”, on behalf of the Competitors and Parents, to Estelle, Jonathan and Jan for partnering ALL the competitors and helping them to achieve such a high standard of Dance. I hope all three of you can get your feet up and rest this evening before you all go back to work tomorrow. I don`t know where you get all your energy from.
We will see you all in class during the week.
