Kirkham Community Centre was packed with proud parents and friends as pupils of the dance school received their awards for dance. During the event guests were treated to various demonstrations performed by pupils in the styles of Ballroom, Latin American and Street Dance. Awards were handed out by the guest of honour Kirkham Town Mayor Councillor Paul Hodgson who was particularly impressed with the waltzing of the very young children. The dance school has developed a strong friendly community over the past 20 years teaching dance in Kirkham and this was obvious on the evening with all ages and abilities receiving awards, joining in and having fun. Kirkham community centre , the home of the dance school is a modern property located to the heart of Kirkham town centre comprising two large rooms the larger hall having a purpose built sprung timber dance floor and outside there are plenty of free parking spaces.
Over the past 6 months our ‘new’ web site has received over 9000 visits! Help us hit 10,000 before our 20th Birthday party which will be held on Saturday the 20th June. This party will be a fab event for children of all ages as we have arranged for Blackpool Circus School to lay on the entertainment and teach us all circus skills! We have kept costs to a minimum and pupils can bring along friends if they wish. Contact Elisabeth or Estelle for tickets and more information. Please also let your friends know about this event by sharing this post. Every click and share helps spread news about the dance school and this is very much appreciated.
Today at Blackpool Tower Ballroom the Elisabeth Marsden School of Dance celebrated 20 years of teaching dance. Over 80 pupils, parents and friends joined in the fun with plenty of dancing and lots of tea and cake.
“I have loved every minute! Today has exceeded my expectations and I would like to thank everyone who came along and made today a very special occasion. In particular a big thank you to all of my teacher team for dancing throughout the day making sure everyone got a turn on the floor.
We must do it again!”
Pupils of the school ranging in age from just 4 to over 74 enjoyed dancing ballroom, Latin and Sequences dances to the sound of the world famous Wurlitzer Organ. There will be more celebrations later in the year. Watch this space! Sign up to our blog to get email alerts and follow us on face book.
