Its been a very busy couple of weeks for our pupils. On the 20th November we took our team to compete at the Wythenshawe Forum Manchester and then on the 27th November most of our pupils took their medal tests.
I have now posted some photos onto the schools Instagram page, click here to see. It was great to see so many of you getting involved and enjoying your dancing. On medal test day we also enjoyed some fantastic home baked cakes. Well done to all those who helped out raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Kirkham Community Centre was packed with proud parents and friends as pupils of the dance school received their awards for dance. During the event guests were treated to various demonstrations performed by pupils in the styles of Ballroom, Latin American and Street Dance. Awards were handed out by the guest of honour Kirkham Town Mayor Councillor Paul Hodgson who was particularly impressed with the waltzing of the very young children. The dance school has developed a strong friendly community over the past 20 years teaching dance in Kirkham and this was obvious on the evening with all ages and abilities receiving awards, joining in and having fun. Kirkham community centre , the home of the dance school is a modern property located to the heart of Kirkham town centre comprising two large rooms the larger hall having a purpose built sprung timber dance floor and outside there are plenty of free parking spaces.
Its the Medal test weekend! Good luck to all our pupils who are involved and if any of you feel nervous tomorrow dont panic, keep clam, dance on and smile 🙂

Blackpool Dance Festival Covering a period of nine days this is by far the largest of all the five Blackpool Festivals. The Festival covers Ballroom and Latin American dancing, incorporating the British Open Championships for Adult Amateur and Professional couples, plus Formation Teams. There are also many trade stands selling dance related clothing, kit , shoes, books, music and more. A great source of inspiration for the enthusiastic dancer. Thus event will be of interest particularly to those involved in the UKA Medal Competitions.
20th Birthday Celebrations More events are planned in June including a circus party. I will post more information on this special event soon. Watch this space!

Thank you all Mums, Dads, Grandparents, Friends, and Family for supporting our pupils and celebrating their success. You made our Medal Presentation Evening a great family occasion. The children rose to the occasion and performed with confidence a variety of dances and had lots of fun before accepting their awards which were handed out by their teachers Harriet, Carly and Estelle. At the end of the evening their contributions were recognised with flowers handed out by the principle of the dance school Elisabeth.
Thank you also for your kind donations towards the purchase of some large portable mirrors. These will be of great assistance and will be used by the teacher team to help improve the style and technique of all the pupils. A big thank you also goes out to all those Mums (and some Dads) who help our pupils look the part. If you have any hints and tips (hair, makeup, dresses etc..) which might help other members of our dance community then why not share them! This web site is for the benefit of all our dance school community so please get in touch if you have useful information to share. If you would be willing to contribute to the dance school web site by writing a short ‘blog’ then please email firstname.lastname@example.org
If this occasion has inspired any Mums and Dads to give dancing a try then please get in touch. Dancing is great fun whatever your age or ability. Below are a few very short clips of the evening. I was dancing on this occasion so the footage is very ‘raw’ (straight out of my iphone!)…. I did not have time to set up and use my ‘posh camera’.
As Elisabeth said, the best way to get these blogs is by subscribing. You can do this by entering your email address at the bottom of the page.
